I have been always very creative, open minded spirit. The idea for this invention came naturally while playing with my dog Cleo, who was puppy at that time. I read many books on housebreaking dogs. However, I found these books very boring. I kept asking myself what else one can use as effective aid to help potty train dogs, not only puppies but also older dogs that have never been trained before. I was especially concerned about millions of dogs that have been abandoned every year because they were not housebroken. Why not use positive reinforcement and make it fun for dogs while keeping them involved? I asked myself. This is how I came up with the Housebreaker.
February 26, 2010
The Housebreaker is the only potty-training product on the market with built-in treat dispenser which uses positive reinforcement to speed up the dog's learning process.
The Housebreaker contains three bells, a treat dispenser and direction for use. Bells are attached to the ribbon at three levels to make it convenient for small, medium and large dogs to use. You can teach your dog to signal to go outside by pushing the bells, hung on a doorknob, with its' nose or paw. Then you should reward your dog by giving him a treat from the handy, built-in dispenser. After that, you should quickly take your dog out to do his business.
The Housebreaker helps you to keep your house clean and it doesn't smell bad, like pee-pads. The Housebreaker saves you money comparing to other potty-training products, such as disposable pee-pads which average $500 annually.
Color: black/white ribbon with gold bells and plastic treat dispenser. Ribbon is 33” long.
Inventor: Olga Horvat
The Housebreaker was developed by dog owner with over 30 years of personal and about 10 years of professional experience with dogs. Olga Horvat is the president of Royal Dogs Gallery, an online store which offers world-class quality products for dogs, grooming services and exquisite dog artworks. Ms. Horvat is also an award-winning artist who specializes in canine paintings and an activist for animal rights and ethics.
I got involved in dog rescue organizations and started fostering dogs. I realized that every dog I fostered was not housebroken. Tragically, five million dogs are abandoned and euthanized each year because homes can not be found. One of the most disturbing statistics shows that one of the main reasons why these dogs are abandoned is because they are not housebroken. This is how I got inspired to invent the Housebreaker, and help abandoned dogs to find forever homes. The Housebreaker is an easy, low-fuss way to make both dogs and people happy, while reinforcing proper training.

I have always had a passion for illustrating children's art. I am a teacher, and earned my master's degree in Early Childhood Education. Though I love teaching, I was fortunate enough to become a stay-at-home Mommy after I had my son, Benjamin. During the day, I enjoyed spending all my time with my son. But during Benny's naps, and when he decided to sleep at night, I began to concentrate my love of illustrating into creating an art portfolio.
As my portfolio progressed, I realized how much fun I was having and how serious I felt about realizing my passion. That's when I decided to go for it and began to create Fun Munchkin!
My neighbor had her own children’s website and thought that my images would look great as kids placemats. I happened to agree with her, and did the necessary research to find a place to create placemats out of my pictures. Fun Munchkin placemats are now manufactured in the USA:)
Inventor: Candice Slowik Perlin
My name is Candice Slowik Perlin, and I am an illustrator of children's art, a teacher, and a Mommy. I earned my masters degree in Early Childhood Education and taught at a private preschool in Manhattan for four years before launching Fun Munchkin.
I grew up in London, where I spent my time riding my bike, digging for worms, and eating delicious chocolates with my best friends. I then moved around the globe a bit before settling down in NYC five years ago. Creating bright, happy pictures with friendly faces is one of the things I love to do most. I am a lover of animals, big and small, which you will see illustrated throughout my artwork. I hope you enjoy what you see!
