The Z-Clip is a cell phone accessory that allows you to clip your cell phone to your car (or truck) sun visor. The Z-Clip keeps your cell phone in your line of sight.  The Z-Clip also allows safe cell phone use while driving using the speakerphone mode of your cell phone.

No longer do you have to put your cell phone into a cup holder or leave it on your seat where it could roll to the floor in the event of a rapid stop or slowdown of traffic.

Many states are creating and enforcing Hands Free laws. Simply slipping the Z-Clip onto your visor, then sliding your cell phone into the Z-Clip as you enter your car can prevent a Hands Free violation ticket or summons. Off your belt and on your visor! If your cell phone did not come with a belt clip, your original dealer or many mall kiosks are likely to have one to fit yours.

Works with virtually any cell phone and no expensive upgrades are required, even if you get a new phone!

Batteries, blue tooth or wiring are never required. The Z-Clip mounts instantly, requires no modifications or permanent installation and can be moved from car to car or truck instantly.

I was looking for a convenient mount that placed my cell phone in my line of sight. I had tried the wired headset, then the blue tooth earpiece and did not find either one comfortable.  The blue tooth earpiece was expensive and needed batteries. I thought that women might not find the earpiece attractive either. I also did not want to screw or glue anything to my dashboard.

One day while reaching for my sunglasses over my visor it hit me!

The Z-Clip is currently in the patent application process.

Inventor: Bernie Daraz

I work as a technical director of a manufacturing company in CT. I have always been interested in inventing and belong to the Danbury Inventors Group. While I was in grade school my father invented the thermal wire stripper. I have previously invented the Vari-Torque Bar for asphalt-modified racecars.  SolidWorks is used to design these products and initial sketching occurs on paper and sometimes in AutoCAD.

I am currently working on the mechanical packaging design for a new amplifier with performance specifications previously unheard of.

I have another consumer product currently being prototyped to be introduced at the beginning of the summer of 2010, hopefully earlier. I also manufacture and sell professional audio accessories on my other website at. I am currently readying two new rack mount fan products for release hopefully by the end of January. One is a virtually silent rack mount fanset that is capable of almost 150 cfm of airflow to cool even the most stubborn racks or home theatre installations without the corresponding and irritating noise from the fanset itself.

I was born and raised in Stamford, CT and attended local schools.

The clip design was derived from my cats tail. I know he wants a percentage of the profits even though he hasn’t said anything yet. I’ll get worried if I see him looking in the yellow pages for an attorney”.

Increase the chances of getting your lost property back by 75% or more!  People lose things all the time — cell phones, laptops, digital cameras, wallets, keys, pets — and the vast majority of missing items go unclaimed because people have no idea who they belong to.

Attach our recovery labels and tags attach to your valuables and if you lose something, the person who finds it will know how to return it.  It’s safe and convenient because both parties can remain completely anonymous and we handle the entire return process for you.  You never want to put any personal information on your property for fear of identity theft and you’ll never have to meet a complete stranger.

Did you know:

  • Approximately 8-million cell phones go missing each year?
  • Enterprise Rent-A-Car finds an average of 50,000 items in their rental cars every year?
  • The New York City Transit Authority collects more than 100,000 lost items every year?
  • Nearly 5 million pets go missing in the U.S. each year?
  • Airlines spend about $3 billion annually compensating passengers for lost items and shipping late bags?

Each recovery label and tag is printed with the message: “RETURN FOR REWARD”, a unique identification number, as well as our website and toll-free telephone number.  Finders contact us directly and we handle the rest.  In the case of missing pets, we can even make arrangements for you to pick up your pet at the nearest animal shelter (we don’t ship animals).

You will not pay any shipping fees* on recoveries and have an unlimited number of recoveries.  Finders are rewarded with a free recovery label and tag just for doing the right thing, along with any monetary reward (optional) you posted when you registered your recovery label and tag.

Recovery labels are made from durable polyester material with super-strong adhesive designed to permanently stick to just about anything.  They are 1 1/2” x 3/4”, the perfect size for items such as cell phones, laptops, mp3 players, digital and video cameras, portable DVD players, wallets, passports, bicycles, sporting equipment and more.

Recovery tags are made from 30mil laminated plastic and are sure to hold up for years to come.  They are 2 1/8” x 1” and fit securely on your key chain, luggage, golf bag, and even your pet’s collar.

I was a college student working for a neighbor who just started his own company.  He needed someone to organize them; get multiple phone lines put in, train them on computers, balance the checking account, etc.

There were only three of us at first and the company was grossing about $25 thousand per month.  Two years later, when I left after graduating college, we had 35 employees and were grossing $250 thousand per month and I was the operations manager.  It was hard to leave because I had a feeling of “ownership”.  But I also felt the need to move on and explore other opportunities with what I had learned.

Over the last 15-years, I took on roles as a journalist and worked in newspaper and television news, then moved into the healthcare staffing industry, where I took on human resources and management.  The entire time, never experiencing that same feeling of ownership I had when I worked in my neighbor’s start-up so many years ago.

I had always wanted to do my own thing and a few years ago had this great idea for an on-line lost and found recovery service.  I finally was given the push so many would-be entrepreneurs need before taking the plunge – I was laid off in December 2008.  I decided if I didn’t start my own thing now, I never would.  After putting every penny I had into developing the business, we launched April 1, 2009.

I believe in simple solutions to common problems.  More often times than not it seems we make things too complicated.  The premise behind lostfoundreturned.com is to offer a simple way for people to get their lost property back.

We developed a safer and more convenient way to protect your valuables, based on the old way of putting your name, address and phone number on everything.  Today that’s simply too dangerous.

TRUE STORY – The very first item the company ever recovered and returned belonged to the co-founder’s mother living in Ohio.
