Nizo Wear nursing bras were inspired by the real-life experience of the company’s founder, Nicole Zoellner. When Nicole became pregnant with her son, she eagerly read all the materials her doctor had given her about the benefits of breastfeeding. She happily anticipated the feelings of serenity and bonding that nursing promises mother and infant.
Then her baby arrived, and Nicole discovered something distressing: Sometimes, breastfeeding hurts. For her, it was downright agonizing.
There’s not a whole lot out there for a nursing mother who is looking for relief, Nicole found. She asked her doctor. She consulted with lactation experts. She asked other moms. She searched the internet. The best advice she could find was to use warm compresses before nursing and cold compresses afterwards.
But nobody could give her any tips for how to make the whole compress thing practical. How do you keep it from shifting around inside your bra? Where are you supposed to get the extra pair of hands to hold everything in place while you’re doing the ten million other things new mothers have to do? Could this feel any more awkward and uncomfortable?

Nicole Zoellner is the president and owner of Nizo Wear, LLC. After graduating with both a Bachelor and Masters of Science degrees in Criminal Justice from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, Nicole married and gave birth to a son. While raising her infant, she discovered something criminal: breastfeeding is not always as easy and perfectly blissful as it is made out to be. So she set out to help educate mothers and arm them with the tools to relieve as much discomfort as possible in order to get breastfeeding back to blissful. Now her days are filled with running her business and learning the ins and outs of the fashion world. In preparing to start her business Nicole took a small business course. During one class her classmates help her brainstorm ideas for her business name and some were quite funny. Some examples include: Dinnertime designs, Udder comfort and Lacta Babe. Nicole's husband stumbled upon the winning name by combining the first two letters of her first and last name into one. That stuck and Nizo Wear was born.

A few years ago, as I was packing for one of my many business trips, I was frustrated that my favorite cosmetic bag had become so dirty inside. You know what I am talking about: mascara, powder and grime that gets layered on the inside. I spent the next several minutes scrubbing away to clean up the mess. As a busy wife, mom and airline executive, I had more important things to do with my time. That morning, in my bathroom (and late for a flight), I thought to myself that there must be a better way. Like most inventors, I took matters into my own hands. In 2007, I left the corporate world and started the process of creating a cosmetic bag with a liner that could be removed and replaced easily. In addition to the practicality of a removable eco friendly Soft Pearl Liner, it was important that I design a cosmetic bag that was soft, modern and beautiful.

Hello, I am Veronica Mayo and I am the inventor and designer of the Vemayca cosmetic bag with the removable Soft Pearl Liner. I spent 23 wonderful years working at American Airlines as a senior marketing executive. During this time I had the privilege of managing a number of interesting projects, including developing the interiors for American’s new B777 and B737 aircraft, introducing the Bose Noise Cancelling Headsets and launching the Applause employee recognition program. I left in 2007 to move to Washington State where my husband was living. After commuting for several years between Seattle and Dallas it was time! Shortly after arriving in Seattle (actually Bellevue), I started working on my idea to create my practical and beautiful cosmetic bag.
Never in a million years did I think that I would invent a product of my own or start a company. I did it with the support of my husband Dave and with the encouragement of lots of family and friends. It takes a lot of hard work, persistence and passion to bring a product to market, but as I an attest, it can be done.
This is not so much a fact about the invention, but a little history on names.
Vemayca is the combination of our names: Ve (Veronica), May (Mayo), C (Christina, our lovely daughter) and A (Austin, our handsome son). I had been thinking about a name for the company for weeks and one night it just came to me. I loved the fact that the name represents my family and I like the way it sounds. Not to mention that it is totally unique just like my Vemayca cosmetic bag.
My photographer loved the liner and especially how it felt (really soft and gel-like). He asked me what it was called and I didn’t have an answer. So I decided that since the liner was a key feature of the Vemayca cosmetic bag that I should have a name for it. Again, after thinking about it for a while, Soft Pearl Liner came to me while at the marina in Roche Harbor, WA. It was perfect since pearls are rare, translucent and beautiful!

This is the best makeup bag I have ever owned. I love the soft material and the snap-in liners. Also the 2 side zippered pockets are wonderful for keeping your brushes, tweezers, and other small cosmetic accessories. The large zippered pocket holds so … more much. I bought several for gifts and everyone who has received one, thinks it is the best makeup bag ever.

I have the white lacy Nizo Wear bra and used it while I was nursing my 3rd child. While nursing him I was fortunate enough to not have all the pain that can accompany nursing. But it was great to know that if I did need the heating/ cooling elements, … more they would be easy to use. You never know what to expect and that's why I love the versitility of Nizo Wear. I definitely appreciated the comfort of the bra but I loved having a nursing bra that didn't feel like a nursing bra - it has rhinestones! The removable underwire is a great option. I would recommend this bra to anyone who wants all the functionality of a nursing bra and all the style of a pre-baby bra!!

I do understand how helpful this product can be. Breasting feeding is painful and having a healing pouch can help ease the pain. Do you think you can have a model, though that looks like she had a baby at least once in her life!?
