Stiruppz are made of elastic webbing, nylon and alligator clips. They won’t damage clothing and are comfortable enough to wear all day.

We good friends came together with an idea.  Lisa was the childhood horseback rider and Jenn was the entrepreneur.  We realized there was a product Lisa used when she was young and rode, but it was not cute and not used in the mainstream for all the woman and girls that loved to wear tall boots like we do.  So we built a prototype and I learned all about the basics.  I had to find a technical graphics guy who did our cad sketches.  I had to find a manufacturer, which was very tough.  Eventually I settled on a manufacturer rep, which is the best thing that happened to me.  We raised money from friends and family.  We had a website designed.  We had a found an awesome fashion illustrator in Canada to do all of our images for our site and packaging.  And then we worked with China on our sample and like 7 samples later we had a product we liked. 

 

 

Inventors:  Lisa & Jennifer Crittenden

I (Jenn) am a small business owner.  I am a franchisee of a nationally known juice bar called Robeks Fruit Smoothies and Healthy Eats.  I also bartend and have done so since graduating college with a BA in Marketing.  I am a single mom and live with my son in Arlington, which is a suburb of Washington DC.  I have known my business partner Lisa for about 8 years.

Lisa is also a bartender and grew up in Arlington as well.  As a young girl she rode horses and used jodhpur clips to keep her riding pants in her riding boots.  From that experience we realized what we needed to do.  Update those Jodhpur clips!  Lisa would come into the bar where I worked and on the slow nights we would chat and sew our prototype.  With the rest of her times she walks dogs.

We literally would sew at the bar!  Lisa would drink the beers, I would pour the beers and we would both sew!

I love this!!! I have been waiting for these for a very long time (like when those boots pictured were in style)! Anyhow, great product but the price is certainly inflated!

Inventor: Linda Janssen

Linda lives in CT, and graduated from Hobart and William Smith Colleges. She had been living in Switzerland, and came back to the states in 2003.

 

We had a customer buy a few because she said the robbers would never think these cute pouches stored valuables.

I would use this one a lot more because I travel frequently and usually end up putting my jewelry in a ziplok bag.
