Adesso Albums are a combination of a guest book and a photo album and are GREAT for weddings, retirement, anniversary, graduation, birthday parties, bar mitzvahs, baby/bridal showers anniversaries – actually any time a group of family and friends get together to celebrate a milestone in life.

All kinds of photos – Fuji Instax or old school Polaroid instant, digital, or the new PoGo prints – are taken and developed or printed right there at the event and slid into the special die cut pages of the Adesso Albums.  Guests write notes to the guest/s of honor on their special page and VOILA!  An instant memento of the event to be enjoyed immediately afterwards!

The albums come in a variety of colors, and are covered in fabric, matte laminated paper, plastic and leather, depending on the album.

It was early 2001.  I’d been working for high profile technology companies in Silicon Valley since 1973 and a single mother of 4 children for the preceding 10 years.  The last of the kids got squared away in college and I felt like I’d crossed the finish line of a marathon!  I walked into my boss’s office at Cisco the very next day and quit!  I had no idea what I was going to do, but I knew it wasn’t going to be more of the same.

Emancipated for the first time in almost 3 decades, I traveled to Florence to attend a friend’s wedding.  The bride asked me to take Polaroid pictures of the guests at the reception, scotch tape them into a gorgeous Italian leather bound scrapbook and have the guests write something to the newlyweds on the page where their picture was taped.  As a single guest it was a great way to mingle with a purpose, it was fun for the guests, and a wonderful instant memento for the couple.

A few days later on a train from Florence to Rome, I reflected on the wedding and the whole experience of putting together this album for my friends.  The only problem with the process was that it was time consuming and ugly to have to scotch tape the pictures into the album and when it was finished, it was lumpy and homemade looking.  I thought, “there has to be a better way to do this and simplify the process and make the final product more elegant.”  And right there, in my Italian travel journal, right next to all the things I’d never want my kids to read, I sketched what would become the patented Adesso Album!

Inventor:  Lesley Mattos

Born November 20, 1951 in Watsonville, CA, the oldest of four children.

Graduated from Santa Clara University in 1973 with a degree in accounting.  Worked for some of the most prestigious companies in Silicon Valley for almost 30 years in positions of finance, investor relations, and corporate communications before "retiring" and starting my first e-commerce business, Adesso Albums.

After raising four children in the suburbs, and successfully launching them into the world, Lesley moved to San Francisco and now lives directly across the street from AT&T Park in the bustling South Beach neighborhood of the city and is an avid fan of the San Francisco Giants!

My mom was one of less than 1,500 women who were in the Women’s Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) in WWII.  These highly trained civilian female pilots were by the employed to fly military aircraft under the direction of the United States Army Air Forces during World War II. Their purpose was to free male pilots for combat service and duties they ferried planes domestically for several years until the program was shut down.  On July 1, 2009 President Obama and the Congress awarded the WASP the Congressional Gold Medal. Three of the roughly 300 surviving WASPs were on hand to witness the event.

As the founder of BARE BOTTOMS, Inc., I am dedicated to offering the highest
standards of quality and safety in my unique and innovative products for
parents and their babies. I was inspired to launch BARE BOTTOMS, Inc. during
my son's crawling stage in 2006. I noticed his knees were scraped and bruised
from the hard surface of my floors. At that moment, I saw the look on his
face and felt his pain. Out of love for my baby, I got creative and made my
precious son a set of knee pads. As an entrepreneur at heart, ZOOMOOZ was
born into the Zoo/Farm family. I designed cartoon characters, gave them all
names and added sounds to each of the characters. ZOOMOOZ is so lovable,
colorful and fun that my second baby enjoyed them, too. The sounds actually
helped me track my little ones from getting into trouble as well as
stimulating their minds while they were crawling.

I realized the necessity that was needed to protect my baby's knees. I made
it my mission to help other babies and special needs toddlers all over the
world. I understand that safety and comfort are primary concerns for parents
with their own little ones.

Inventor: Betty Calderwood

Betty Calderwood's genuine love for children and people in need has always been a primary focus in her life.  She has spent much of her time donating to charities and volunteering her time at homeless shelters.  So, when Betty became a mother with her first child, she was inspired to make a difference not only in the life of her own child, but in the lives of children by developing a product to protect their knees while crawling.  At the time, there wasn't any product that  provided full protection with a cute design.  From her vision she created a working prototype.  Betty designed, sewed, and tested her invention from her home.  This prototype eventually led her to one of the most prestigious trade shows of the year in Las Vegas, where it was an instant success; and Bare Bottoms, Inc. was launched.

Betty's many years of marketing experience has served her well in building strong relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, public relations firms and vendors, as well as, her clients.  Yet despite her success she has never lost focus of her goal and vision to help kids, especially those with special needs.  Betty strives to donate proceeds of her company to hospitals and various charities.  She plans to create more innovative products that can further help children.  Her goal is to be able to produce her products from her own manufacturing plant without having to out source to any vendor which would allow her to give back even more to children in need.

My dear friend has an amazing baby named Gavin with special needs. Gavin has been on his knees for over two years now and ZOOMOOZ has been very helpful and entertaining to him. ZOOMOOZ creative functions motivate Gavin to crawl more while his knees are protected from the hard surfaces. He is full of giggles when wearing his ZOOMOOZ.

For the love of Gavin, who has suffered serious redness and pain from being on his knees for so long I pushed hard to help more local centers, schools and hospitals with their little ones.  I am a big supporter for babies/children with disabilities. I am a strong believer in giving back to Blind Children’s Organization, Preemie Babies Charity; Feed the Children and Autism Foundation. These are just a few of my favorite charities. I would like to continue my community services because I have been very blessed with a loving husband and healthy children.

My commitment is to protect the precious little ones all over the world and strive for 100% customer satisfaction with all my products. That’s why I have them made right here in the U.S.A.

Such a great idea. Love the fact that babies can crawl around without scratching up their knees.

What a clever idea. Too bad no one thought of this when my kids were little. I always hated to see their little knees all rough and red when they were learning to crawl. I'll need to get these for the grandbabies!

The grandkids love them and they will avoid the "surfers knees" common in SoCal. They can crawl around on any surface and not mess up the knees. One of the greatest gift ideas I have seen!

These things are great for the kids just starting to crawl. Wish we had them when our little ones started trying to go mobile. Besides they are really cute!
