After witnessing parents trying to tuck in blankets around their babies to keep them warm while still keeping them close via baby wearing and after seeing numerous blankets flying off strollers or getting stuck in stroller wheels, I set out to create a line of practical cold weather protection gear that will provide warmth without the bulk, all while keeping children warm and dry.

Enjoy Babywearing / Attachment Parenting in any weather!
The Mommy’s Hug™ cover does just what the name suggests. It’s a wearable blanket that wraps the baby with a warm hug of breathable fleece and a weather resistant nylon. It is designed with a generously sized foot pouch to trap the body heat and keep the child extra warm, snug and secure. It wraps the baby snuggly in a baby carrier, car seat or stroller and does not interfere with the safety harness. There is even a pocket for parents to keep their hands warm or hold small necessities within reach.

I've been creating, inventing and selling things ever since I can remember. Dating back to my childhood years in Ukraine, I remember collecting sea shells on the beach, glueing and coloring them into fun little animals and reselling them in front of the house I grew up in to pedestrians walking to and from work. Fast forward a little over a decade later, I launched an e-commerce business the same month my first son was born and while studying for a CPA exam which I never took when my business took off and required all my time. Years later, I decided to create innovative, practical, multi-purpose and hip baby gear products that help solve everyday problems and make parents and childrens lives easier and gave birth to Tivoli Couture.
Now, Tivoli Couture is an award winning baby gear and accessories company dedicated to creating innovative and utilitarian juvenile products for discriminating parents demanding quality, attractiveness, ingenuity and function. In the days when consumers are checking out price tags, our goal was to create basic luxuries parents use daily at attractive price points with products Made in the USA.
Tivoli, (also read as ''i lov it'' backwards), is a beautiful town near Rome, Italy, that I traveled to as a young child. Years later, by sheer accident my husband and I bought a house on Tivoli Court where we now reside. Inspired by my destiny, and by the ancient Tivoli villas and castles I visited as a child, is what influenced me to name my company Tivoli Couture.
Dr. Doormat is the first antimicrobial treated doormat designed for the home that destroys microorganisms on contact and can remove up to 99% of the debris on the soles of your shoes by simply wiping at least twice. Dr. Doormat safely destroys microorganisms through a physical mode of action (like popping a balloon with a pin) and does not poison microorganisms. This approach renders the microorganisms harmless, eliminating the concern for mutation and stronger strains of microorganisms and viruses developing. The entire surface of Dr. Doormat has been treated with an EPA approved antimicrobial chemistry that is permanently bonded to the fibers of the mat and cannot be tracked off. You never have to re-treat the mats and it will last up to five years and maintain its efficacy for up to 50 washes. The thick rubber backing made with virgin rubber, features molded rubber nibs that prevent mat movement. The elegant bubble pattern on the surface features a stain resistant fiber that helps scrape dirt and grit off shoes. Dr. Doormat is the best doormat for indoor use.
Dr. Doormat is the product of a single question.
If you could do something to protect yourself and your family from allergens and toxins that have the potential to cause them harm…would you?
Debbie Estis Greenspan would. And she did. The Founder and President of the company behind this exciting new advance in home and health protection first came upon her idea after becoming a first-time mother in 2002.
“It Must Be The Shoes…”
A lifelong allergy sufferer herself, Debbie began researching ways to make her home environment as safe as possible for herself and for her growing family. What she found surprised her…and will probably surprise you too. She learned that more then 80% of the harmful pollutants and dirt that enter your house do so right on the bottom of your shoes!
Just stop and think for a moment about all the places those soles of yours go in a single day. By the time you walk through that door, you are providing a red-carpet treatment welcome for an infinite number of harmful microbes from your office, your car, stores, your gym, public restrooms…the list goes on and on. But we think you get the point.
“Paging Dr. Doormat…”
So what is a concerned mother to do? Greenspan sprung into action.
“I felt like I had to do something,” she said. “So I began thinking about creating a line of defense to try and make my home the sanctuary we all would like our homes to be for our families, and especially our children.”
Her search took her far and wide…then literally landed her right on her own doorstep.
“I looked at my doormat,” she said, and thought, “hmmmmm.”
That thought sprung her into further action, with more research and phone calls and legwork that led her to expand her network of business contacts into the scientific realm and resulted in the first-ever antimicrobial doormat designed for private residences.
“On Call…24/7"
Germs don’t sleep, and neither should you.
Dr. Doormat provides ‘round the clock protection for the members of your family who need it most. Leading health experts and prominent cleaning studies regularly point to babies, pregnant women, allergy and asthma sufferers, people with compromised immune systems and the elderly as prime germ targets.
Inventor: DEBORAH ESTIS GREENSPAN, President, Dr. Doormat, Inc.
Debbie Estis Greenspan, a lifelong allergy sufferer, grew up on 40 acres in upstate New York. Her family has owned and operated a private sleep away camp there for 48 years, since Debbie was 3 months old. This lifetime experience lead her to pursue a degree in the hospitality industry. With a BS degree from the School of Hospitality at (FIU) Florida International University in Miami and a continuation education degree from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY. Debbie took many classes including Sanitation and Housekeeping. Although she once flirted with the idea of pursuing a career as an Executive Housekeeper in a large hotel, it was clear her interest and skills in sales and marketing would serve her well. Mrs. Greenspan has been involved with every aspect of sales and marketing for the hotel industry for over 20 years. From 1995 to 1998 Debbie was a member of the faculty of Cornell University School of Hotel Administration’s Executive Education program teaching the Basics of Hotel Sales. As a principal and founder of Driving Revenue an international marketing consulting firm, Debbie and her sister (partner) created and implemented unique revenue management tools and consulting services for the hotel and resort industry all over the world.
Driving Revenue was purchased by Pegasus Solutions, Inc. in August of 1998, where Mrs. Greenspan acted as Vice President of Sales for the Business Intelligence division during a transition period. In 1999 Debbie was married to Jerry Greenspan in Washington DC and moved into their home in North Bethesda, Maryland. Their daughter Haley was born on January 15, 2002 and son Marshall was born on January 14, 2003. As a first time Mom in 2002, Debbie became increasingly concerned about the toxins, pesticides and harmful pollutants that were tracked in on the floor. It was exactly this revelation that led her down a two year path of research, consulting a team of home environmental experts and microbiologists to see what could be done about the problem. These efforts marked the beginning of her road to “Dr. Doormat.“ Debbie runs her business while taking care of her two children full time.
Story #1: The longer you stand on the mat the more effective it is. The lab research uncovered that when you wipe your shoes at least twice or stand on the mat for at least 30 seconds you can destroy all of the microorganisms that come into contact with the treated surface of the mat. When people come to visit our home and they ring the doorbell, they will have a little wait before we answer but they may not know why.
Story #2. Our children learned to wipe their shoes at a very early age on Dr. Doormat, so he was a bit of a super hero at our home because he protects us. The kids used to pretend the bottom of their shoes were kissing Dr. Doormat when they wiped and they would say hello to him and make kissing sounds when they entered the house.

I think shoes should be removed in a house, but for those who like to wear shoes in the house this is much better than doing nothing.

I love the wearable blanket! As an adoptive Mom with a daughter who came home with attachment issues - this is exactly what we needed a few years ago. I highly recommend this blanket for any parent, but especially for a gift for adoptive parents. You … more will be doing more than you know! :-)
