Ergonomic Design. Engineering gloves to fit small children’s hands make the glove fit better, providing for more functional wear. The most important feature of ZipperBack Gloves is our patented design. It is unique in that it placed the thumb opening closer to the finger openings. No other glove on the market uses this design. Think about it: children’s hands are not the same as adult hands. The space between the thumb and the forefinger on a child’s hand is up to a half-inch smaller. Our gloves address this physical difference and are specifically designed to accommodate a child’s developmental stages, insuring a more snug fit. Besides keeping their little hands warm, comes a reduction in safety-related issues, too (i.e., holding a rope tow on a beginner ski lift). Other wonderful aspects of ZipperBack Gloves are the large opening in the back of the gloves makes them super easy for a toddler to put on by themselves. This opening in the back also makes them more sanitary as you can machine wash and dry the gloves with the back open. They also have a soft fleece nose wipe on the forefinger of the glove so children don’t have to take their glove off to wipe their nose when it runs in the cold weather.

When our son was old enough, we planned on introducing him to the snow. Wanting to make sure our two-year-old bundle of energy would stay warm on his first snow day, we purchased the required gear. It was then we ran into a roadblock: gloves for little hands were near impossible to find. But we did, and we were off on our family adventure.

Things went downhill once we arrived at the snow park. Our eager son was ready to go, and after outfitting him in his snow gear, we tried to put his gloves on him. No go. Try as we might, they weren’t going on. Tears were shed by our boy and there was frustration all around. What started out as a fun day was ruined before it even began.

After inquiries and investigation on our part, we learned that the few manufacturers making gloves for children were not making them properly. We discovered a radical flaw in these glove designs; manufacturers were using an adult-sized hand pattern and simply shrinking it to a smaller size for children. Did you know that the space between the thumb and the forefinger on a child’s hand is up to a half-inch smaller than an adults? That’s why children’s gloves don’t fit!

With this knowledge, we have created a children’s glove that is ergonomically correct. Our zippered-back design allows a child to see the finger holes, which helps the glove go on effortlessly. They fit snuggly (great safety feature, especially when skiing or snowmobiling), are functional and durable, and come with a “nose wipe” on the forefinger! And they are even machine washable. So no more cold fingers and hands! It’s time for fun!

Inventor: Kathy Partak

Kathy has spent her life creating solutions to everyday problems, which was the perfect education for becoming a mom, businesswoman and entrepreneur. She has the unique ability to simply see answers to many of life’s questions and to solve the problem. Her answer to, “Why don’t gloves fit little hands?” is right here with ZipperBack Gloves. Kathy is a take-action kind of gal, so she went right to work putting the pieces of this puzzle together. The best part of the whole process is knowing that she is solving this problem not only for her family, but so many other families as well!

We created these gloves with little ones in mind and through this first year of development, we’ve found that older kids think the zipper is super cool and adults don’t like the way gloves are made so generically. Our manufacturer told us they would not do an adult line, absolutely not! As soon as we sold out at our first trade show and so many retailers could see the value for adults, our manufacturer said, “Absolutley!” as boldly as they originally said, “No!”

Hi Lori, If they were around 15 years ago, they went away because we couldn't find them! The zipper on the back makes the gloves easy to put on, but the real value with ZBG is that the thumb is in the right place on the glove for little hands. Thanks formore the comment! Kathy

The Lamatec LT3000 3-in-1 features a Precision Heavy-Duty 3½” Surface Pressure Roller, an All- Purpose Edge, Seam & Surface Pinpoint Pressure Tool, and a Revolutionary Snap-In, Non-Cut 5” Pressure Blade with a Dual-Action Nylon Smoothing Tip.

Lamatec's new and revolutionary 3-in-1 design is the first tool design to enable both the professional and amateur craftsman the unique ability to Smooth Out, Pressurize and Bond ALL Surface Areas (i.e. open areas, tight inaccessible areas, edges, seams, corners, inlays, etc) associated with the application bonding process of Mica, Wood Veneer, Wallpaper, Contact Paper, Vinyl Flooring, Vinyl Base Molding and any other material that requires pressure during the application bonding process.

Lamatec Technologies’ key strengths have been through its cutting-edge technology that has modified the current design of a single feature tool, aimed at a single industry and converting it into a tool that is multi-functional and crosses over many industries. Because of this advancement in tool technology, a craftsman whether he or she is a professional or amateur will produce a laminate application faster, easier and more efficiently, thereby greatly enhancing productivity, profits and quality of workmanship at a quicker easier pace.

The Company's mission is to greatly improve the quality, performance and profits for businesses, professional craftsman and consumers who require pressure tools for the application bonding process of delicate laminates. Since the development of laminates, one could only purchase a variety of single feature pressure tools; (i.e. surface rollers, seam rollers, paper smoother’s and/or brushes) to apply pressure to one specific area of one specific type of laminate material. Unfortunately, these tools were not designed to pressurize and bond all of the many different surface areas/aspects (i.e. open areas, tight inaccessible areas, edges, seams, corners, inlays, etc) that are associated with today’s application bonding process of delicate laminates; (i.e. Mica, Wood Veneer, Vinyl Flooring, Vinyl Base Molding, Wallpaper, Contact Paper, Decorative Window Decals, etc).
