OK to Wake! glows a soft yellow in the evening and turns green in the morning at the time parents’ specify.  Kids take pride in waiting for the green light before they come visit mom and dad with the knowledge of a job well-done.  This ingenious product is a life-saver for sleep-deprived parents for whom every extra moment of sleep is a luxury. For older kids who want to get up “on their own”, OK to Wake! is also an alarm clock with Snooze function – just like mom’s and dad’s.

Product Features:

  • OK to Wake! color changing nightlight timer teaches children to stay in bed longer in the morning so parents get more sleep.
  • Fun “toe” buttons designed for kids invoke funny facial animations on the LCD.
  • Cleverly concealed “parental” controls are hidden behind a panel on the back along with instructions for easy setup and option selection.
  • Built-in “Nap Timer” allows for afternoon napping without disrupting usual alarm and nightlight settings.
  • Alarm clock with Snooze function allows older kids to get up “on their own”.
  • Includes interchangeable green bug and pink flower face plates for a boy or a girl’s room.

OK to Wake! is actually the follow-on product to another American Innovative item that contained the same feature.  The company's Teach Me Time! Talking Alarm Clock & Nightlight pre-dated this model and contains additional functionality - namely a talking, interactive game that teaches time on the analog and digital clock (most useful for slightly older children).  Interestingly, we found that the "OK to Wake!" nightlight feature in the Teach Me Time! generated a lot of additional buzz online in product reviews and BLOG commentaries.  OK to Wake!, which focuses on this feature and the related audience, is a line addition that helps us to meet the needs of different consumers in different retail channels and at different price points ($29.95 for this product vs. $39.95 for the Teach Me Time!).

Inventor: Adam Hocherman

Adam Hocherman founded American Innovative in 2003 and later launched the Onaroo line of "smart products for children and their parents".  OK to Wake! is approximately the 10th consumer electronic product that Mr. Hocherman's company has developed in the ensuing six years.  What's interesting to note is that Adam founded AI, whose tagline is "Products that make sense." with just a single item - the original Neverlate 7-day Alarm Clock, which is still a solid seller all these years later.  The company was founded with a modest personal investment and an SBA-backed bank loan.  To this day AI has no outside ownership, a testament to Mr. Hocherman's "Do more with less." philosophy of entrepreneurship.

Adam Hocherman first invention the Neverlate Alarm Clock has found success giving Adam the ability to add new inventions to his company and to build a product line which now includes OK to Wake!

Jeff Gawronski the founder of Yak About It actually met Adam when he cold-called AI regarding the Neverlate Alarm Clock years ago while working on a previous venture.  They've been friends and fellow entrepreneurs ever since - trading bits of advice and swapping stories from the trenches.

I need, need, need this. Well my hubby and I had this issue the other morning. It was dark outside and the kida were in our room with the light on, playing with toys, jumping and carrying on. I happened to look at the clock and it was 5:00a in themore morning. I quickly sent them back to bed for at least 3 more hours and it was the weekend. Dad's a truck driver so I try to tell them how important his sleep is. Try telling a 6yr old and 2yr old not to get out the bed until 8:30a this is great! Great invention, wish it wasn't sold out or i'd buy it.

This is an awesome idea. I have a 3 yr old that's not quite able to tell time and this is exactly what we need! Might have to invest in one for my own Christmas present- a little extra sleep on the weekends!

Track, Carry, and Protect—with TAC Drive

TAC Drive is a rugged, secure, waterproof USB flash drive designed to handle life’s toughest situations, wherever they may happen. Originally designed as a digital dog tag for emergency First Responders, TAC Drive features a strong, metal casing that can be personalized with vital information of your choice—from emergency contact and medical information, to your cell phone number and email address.

TAC Drive’s true strength extends to the drive itself: it provides pre-loaded, multi-platform software which allows the user to easily personalize a medical profile and password-protect all added digital files with military-grade encryption algorithms. No longer is this level of security dependent on the computer you use: TAC Drive ensures your files’ safety on the drive itself, so your information stays protected no matter where you—or your TAC Drive—ends up.

TAC Drive can be used on PCs and Macs and securely stores your most sensitive data. TAC Drive gives you the choice to control your medical records and health information in a portable electronic format, or to simply use it as an incredibly durable and secure USB flash drive up to 16 GB.

TAC Drive is not just for emergency First Responders:

  • Carry music files, photos, and movies for personal use
  • Encrypt sensitive files and documents with the TAC Drive stand-alone encryption utility
  • Keep track of your or your family’s vaccinations and medical records

Initially field-tested and currently used by several law enforcement, military, firefighter and medical personnel, TAC Drive now offers this same level of mobile information security to everyone—because everyone could use a little more protection.

TAC Drive is available in 1GB for $25.00 & 4 GB for $45.00

As health care professionals in Northern California, the founders of TAC Drive provided medical care for  emergency first responders for over 10 years. Over time, those patients’ medical records and charts became very thick and cumbersome to handle. During that time, Medical Director (and future TAC Drive creator) Anthony DuBose, MD, sought an alternative to traditional paper-based personal health records—something that would enable his patients to keep their own medical records immediately on hand, and share them easily with other medical personnel as needed.

Dr. DuBose wanted a high-quality portable product that was rugged enough to withstand the "firefighter test"—meaning one that was durable enough to withstand extreme conditions in the field during emergency situations, yet with the practical utility for secure data storage of medical and any other vital documents. After 2 years of research and development and incredibly rigorous field testing, TAC Drive was born.

One of the coolest and creative gadgets I've seen in awhile. I'm all about efficiency and this conveniently carries all of my information to date so I can take it anywhere with me. I have 2 just in case, one that I travel with that is always in mymore suitcase and one that I run around with at home.

I recently got one of these from the Black Palm Syndicate! Built like a tank! But still very small and concealable. Same size as my real dogtags and only a bit thicker. And one helluva lot cooler!
