Smart Heel is the product of a shoe lover who was fed up of ruining my heels in the grates and sidewalks of New York City.  After an exhaustive search for a heel protection product yielded no results, I took matters into her own hands to develop a solution to the damage caused to high heels by everyday living.  Over the course of a year and a half, I developed almost ten different prototypes, wearing them every day on the streets of New York to personally test their efficacy and ease of use.  I finally found the winning combination of strength, simplicity and style, and Smart Heel was born.  I haven’t damaged a single pair of heels since, and if my heels can survive the rigors of living in New York City, then they can survive anywhere.

If the shoe fits…protect it!

Inventor: Stacie Urbach

Having worked for several global companies, I stem from a successful career in the financial industry specializing in asset-backed securitization. My resume includes Citibank, Fuji Bank, GE Capital, and Assured Guaranty Corp.

I left the corporate world in 2005 to pursue a profession better suited to my personality.  Soon after leaving, I damaged a pair of expensive designer shoes the moment I walked out of the store.  As a devoted shoe person, I was determined never to let that happen again and the idea for Smart Heel was born.

I graduated from Barnard College with a B.A. in mathematics and serve as Treasurer on the board of Barnard Business and Professional Women (BBPW).

Bach Enterprises, LLC, home of Smart Heel®, specializes in innovative products to solve the peskiest fashion and beauty problems.  Since Smart Heel came into existence I have not damaged a single pair of heels.  Smart Heel is located in New York City and proud to be made by a small business in America.  Look for more lifestyle problem-solvers from Bach Enterprises LLC to come.

They look funny. If damaged heels are a problem for you then I guess this is your answer. Not for me.

BIN BUDDIES® are water resistant nylon fabric inserts with pockets around the inside perimeter for storing a variety of items in commonly found plastic storage bins while still allowing the lid to fit snugly as the original manufacturers intended.

We design our storage bin organizers to fit the most common storage bins available for Roughneck and Rubbermaid®.

Convenient Features
· Sizes To Fit Top Storage Bin Brands
· Convenient Handi-Stor™ Pockets
· Lid Snaps In Place
· Durable and Washable

Popular Uses
· home organization
· garage storage
· disaster preparedness
· outdoor recreation

We, Tom and Gretchen, started Handi-Stor in 2005 after Gretchen’s particularly bad camping trip down the Oregon and California coasts.
It’s not that Gretchen has no idea how to camp; she has been doing it all her life and with nary a hitch.  Tired of searching for the corkscrew in the bottom of one of her camping bins every evening for two weeks, Gretchen called Tom, and many Wednesday nights, glasses of chardonnay and various take-outs later, BIN BUDDIES® was born.

Inventors: Gretchen Frankenstein & Thomas Kessner

Thomas Kessner is the co-owner of Aurelia Holdings, its products division Handi-Stor, and co-creator of BIN BUDDIES®. He is an avid outdoorsman living in Seattle, WA.  He started down the path to becoming a products inventor while working along side Gretchen at an environmental law firm. However, his ideas didn't start or stop there.  They started while working for Target as a plan-o-gram specialist back in high school. From there he went on to assist a number of retail companies such as Fred Meyer, Mervyn's, and Office Depot, in product merchandising, promotion, and marketing.

He continues to plan and develop innovative organizational products and takes great care to engineer them to last a lifetime - reducing the consumer's carbon footprint.  As a way of giving back, he consults with new businesses and product developers to help them understand the entire idea-to-market process and how to set up their business for success.

Gretchen Frankenstein is the other half of Aurelia Holdings and its products division, Handi-Stor, and co-creator of BIN BUDDIES®.  She became an inventor quite by accident when, while working in law firm administration, she and Thomas Kessner came up with the idea of BIN BUDDIES® and it just kept rolling along.  Gretchen has found that she loves developing innovative, practical storage products that are built to be functional and useful over a lifetime, reducing cost to the consumer and waste to the environment.  She also enjoys the operational challenges of growing and running a small niche manufacturing  business.

When she isn’t dreaming up new ideas, Gretchen likes to spend her time assisting other budding niche manufacturing entrepreneurs to get their products to market, playing marine biologist in the Puget Sound area, and spending time with her husband and their various foster springer spaniels.

With the intention of resolving a common frustration with plastic storage bins—what you put into them cannot easily be found again, we decided not to engineer BIN BUDDIES® with a short product life span and put in as many pockets as we could fit.  People love pockets.  Therefore to reduce our carbon footprint, we chose to use the most durable, longest lasting, and repairable materials we could find.  We couldn’t come up with just one size pattern given the huge number of bins and sized on the market so we bought every storage bin of practical size from every retailer that sold them.  By the end of the development process we had 11 patterns that fit more than 36 different sized storage bins.  It was very tough to narrow it down to a manageable 6.
