The WondaWedge is great for the beach, in your bed, on the floor or anywhere else you need to be comfortably propped. With its on the go style you can take in anywhere to create an instant cushion.
The WondaWedge is an inflatable, triangular shaped pillow with permanently attached mat. The three different sides of the pillow offer three different angles with which to support your back. Because it’s inflatable, users can set their own comfort level.
The WondaWedge weighs just slightly more than a pound, and deflates to store in a small space. When deflated it measures 8”x10”x1” – about the size of a hard cover book.
It’s made of ‘sueded’ vinyl and therefore waterproof. Hand washable using soap, water and a soft brush.. Allow to dry before deflating for storage. Packs easily in a suitcase or totebag, or stows easily in an RV or the trunk of your car.

On one of Wessel's and Jolene's trips through Thailand, they noticed some local triangular shaped pillows and thought they looked intriguing as back support pillows, but they were bulky and heavy. At the same time, a new product was being introduced in South Africa – a beach towel with attached pillow. Wes thought that perhaps he could come up with a combination of the two ideas, and began designing inflatable pillows, with the goal in mind of providing proper back support for both indoor and outdoor use.
After a variety of trials, and the advice of product designers and friends, he arrived at the WondaWedge design as we know it today, and began test marketing the product at street fairs in New York.
Teaming up with Margie Williams: In 2007, Margie Williams, a marketing consultant spied the WondaWedge on E-bay. Margie and her husband owned an RV with the unusual feature of a shelf at the head of the bed. Both Margie and her husband enjoyed reading in the evenings before bedtime and the shelf made it difficult to prop up in bed with pillows, so Margie began a search for a reading pillow that would resolve the problem. In her search, she came across the WondaWedge and ordered a couple. What a surprise!
After using the WondaWedge and discovering how comfortable it was, Margie began to think of all the potential uses for this product. With that thought in mind, she found Wes through E-bay, and they had a very long talk about the marketing possibilities for the product. Wes was happy to have found someone with the marketing expertise and connections to help him sell the WondaWedge, and Margie was pleased to have discovered a truly versatile invention with global potential.
Inventor: Wessel Oosthuizen
Wessel Oosthuizen, a physiotherapist now in private practice in Hawaii, is the developer of the WondaWedge. Wes and wife Jolene Smith, both graduates of the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa, are world travelers.
Margie’s Williams is a marketing consultant and owner of Cypress Creek Marketing. Margie has an exclusive with Wessel on the WondaWedge. Margie handles all marketing and sales for the product in Wimberley Texas.
Wes and Margie have been working together for the past couple of years.
The big test came one day at a street fair in New York City. A VERY large man wanted to try out a WondaWedge and questioned whether this inflatable pillow would support someone of his girth. Wes and Jolene held their breath as he sat down and leaned back, knowing that if the WondaWedge failed, it would have failed in a very public setting. The WondaWedge passed the test with flying colors, and Wes knew that the product was well constructed and manufactured for durability.
